今大会に多くの皆様にエントリーいただき誠にありがとうございます。
6月7日開催で準備を進めてまいりました「第6回びわ湖トライアスロン in 近江八幡」は、大変残念ではございますが、中止と決定いたしました。
新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大を受けて4月8日に緊急事態宣言が発令され、滋賀県でも33名(4月9日現在)の感染者が出る中、安全で安心できる大会運営を目標に今日まで取り組んでまいりましたが、残念ながら収束の見込みが立たず今後も予想がつかない状況です。
このような状況下では、どのような対策を講じても、選手、スタッフ、ボランティアの皆様が安心して大会に参加いただくことが難しいのではないか、地元の方々に不安感を与えるのではないか、選手の皆様にもコロナの影響でジムが閉鎖になったことによる練習不足、感染者が出た場合の地域の医療体制への影響が出ることなどが懸念材料として考えられ、苦渋の決断ではありましたが中止を決定いたしました。何卒ご理解頂きますようお願い申し上げます。

なお、ローソンエントリーでエントリーいただいた選手の皆様につきましては、準備しておりました参加賞に加え選手の皆様の記憶に残る記念品をご用意させていただきます。記念品の発送は5月下旬を予定しております。

3月18日、青山学院大学卒業後、実業団を経験、今はプロランナーとして活動されている川崎友輝選手が、びわ湖トライアスロン事務局を訪問してくださいました。
びわ湖毎日マラソンの疲れも見せず、優しい笑顔でした。
川崎さんは、滋賀県の中学校を中心に、走り方の基本動作や、楽しく身体を動かすことを学んでもらうためのランニング教室開校の準備をされています。

今後はびわ湖トライアスロンも協力し、子どもたちにスポーツ文化とスポーツをする楽しさを広めていきたいと思います。
ミーテイング後は写真撮影にも快く応じてくださり、実行委員たちも大感激!

【新型コロナウイルス感染症への対応について】
びわ湖トライアスロンin近江八幡実行委員会では、新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大を受けて、政府等の対応方針など、最新の情報収集に努めながら、6月6日(土)・7日(日)の安全な大会開催に向けて、現在のところ予定どおり開催することで準備を進めております。

政府は2月20日、国内で予定されている大規模イベントなどについて、一律の自粛要請はせず、あくまでも主催者の判断としたうえで、イベントを開催する場合は、感染拡大の防止対策を講じるよう現時点での方針を示しました。
また、2月26日には国内のスポーツ・文化イベントの開催を2週間、中止や延期、規模縮小など自粛するよう求めると発表しました。

大会実行委員会では、公的機関、医療機関等からの正確な情報を入手していくほか、日本トライアスロン連合、滋賀県トライアスロン協会とも連携し、市民活動への影響を考慮しながら最善な方向を検討してまいります。

また、開催時の感染拡大防止については、大会会場などでのマスク、消毒液の配備等の対策を予定しております。

大会の開催可否の情報は、随時、公式Webサイトなどを通じて発表させていただきますので、皆様におかれましては関係情報について、引き続き注視していただきますようお願いいたします。
